Noted Genealogist Conducts Workshop for Museum Docents

Sep 29, 2023

Well-known genealogist and author Dr. Laura Edwards conducted a workshop for our Museum docents on June 8 at the Depot. The goal of the workshop was to help our Museum volunteers learn more about genealogical research, making us better able to assist our visitors with their own research. (We have Ancestry.com and Newspapers.com currently available for use in the library at the Museum.) Laura gave us many tips and resources to follow, and well as warnings about some “pitfalls” and dead-ends we might encounter, along with ways to work around them.

We appreciate Dr. Edwards generously conducting this workshop for us . We also sincerely appreciate an anonymous member of GAHS who kindly donated the cost of lunch for the participants.
