COH Summer Campers Tour Museum, Fire Department

Sep 29, 2023

Students from the Community of Hope summer camping program visited the Museum on June 28. Sixty-two students and their high school and adult counselors toured the Museum that morning, and also attended a presentation at Fire Station One during their visit. We are very glad to collaborate with Garner Fire and Rescue on our student tours. (Students learn about Fire Safety and careers in Fire and Rescue at the GFD presentations.)

At the Museum, students learned about a way of life before television, computers, mobile phones, and certainly before Amazon was around to deliver items to their doors!! Thanks to docents Connie Barton, Judy Bass, Carol Gupton, and Karen Padgett for assisting with the tour, and to Captain Don Johnson of the GFD for coordinating the Fire and Rescue presentation.
